Shopping at the farmers market is a quick way to make your taste buds “see” double. Everyday we hear stories about someone who tried a fruit or vegetable from the market — thinking they knew exactly what they were in for — only to discover a giant surprise. It tasted totally new…like something they had never tasted before. Good examples? Try strawberries, sweet corn, yellow beans, heirloom tomatoes and garlic. Yes, you have been eating them for years. May have thought they tasted fine. But then you bit into your market purchase — produce that was grown right around the corner, picked that morning, loaded into a truck and delivered fresh. And yippee…it is like tasting something totally different. What a cool way to find a dozen or more “new” foods to eat. You will be glad you did.
